BRONX, NY – Behind three goals from senior
Danielle Bucco (Washingtonville, N.Y.), the Mount Saint Mary College women's soccer team cruised to a 6-0 victory over SUNY Maritime College on Saturday. The Blue Knights improved to 4-5-1 overall and to 2-1-1 in the Skyline Conference.
Bucco scored two goals in just more than a minute during the first half. She tallied at the 18:49 mark and at 19:53. She completed the hat trick in the 80th minute, taking a feed on a two-on-one from freshman
Brittany Shamro (Pine Bush, N.Y.).
Shamro collected a goal of her own in the 83rd minute, the first of her career, to make the score 5-0 in favor of the Mount. Freshman
Kelly Candelet (Mystic, Conn.) also scored her first collegiate goal with a nice move in the 88th minute.
Sophomore
Debbie Carroll (Bellmore, N.Y.) also scored for the Blue Knights, finishing off a loose ball following a free kick in the 74th minute.
Mount Saint Mary will host the College of Mount Saint Vincent on Tuesday, October 6 as they continue Skyline Conference play. The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
