PURCHASE, NY – Improving their record to 7-0 overall and to 4-0 inside the Skyline Conference, the Mount Saint Mary College women's tennis team swept Mount Saint Vincent on Monday.
Sophomore
Lindsay Searle (Unionville, Conn.) and junior
Rebecca Schwartz (New Windsor, N.Y.) were tested at first doubles, but eventually prevailed, 8-4. Juniors
Danielle Kehoe (Goshen, N.Y.) and
Caitlin Giordano (Walden, N.Y.) waltzed to an 8-0 win at second doubles while junior
Laura Wolons (Middletown, N.Y.) and freshman
Annmarie Llewellyn (Brookhaven, N.Y.) earned an 8-1 win at third doubles.
Searle, Llewellyn, and Wolons all won by scores of 6-0, 6-0. Schwartz was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at second singles and Kehoe took third singles, 6-1, 6-0.
The Mount continues their Skyline schedule this Friday as they host Polytechnic. The match is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start in Cronomer Park.
