Brittany Bell (Bloomfield, N.J.), the Mount Saint Mary College women's soccer team defeated Mount Saint Vincent on Thursday night by a score of 9-1. The Blue Knights improved to 9-4-1 overall and 4-2-1 in Skyline play while the Dolphins dropped to 1-13 overall and to 1-5 in conference.
Carroll opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 27th minute. Sophomore
Kristen Maggio (Smithtown, N.Y.) followed with a goal in the 29th minute, scored on a corner kick from freshman
Colleen Ryan (Point Lookout, N.Y.). Carroll scored her second of the night in the 33rd minute, making a nice move in the box after a pass from senior
Marissa Cannella (Cornwall, N.Y.).
McKeon started the second half with a pair of goals, one unassisted in the 47th minute and then the second off a feed from Cannella in the 55th minute. After a Mount Saint Vincent free kick goal, junior
Danielle Bucco (Washingtonville, N.Y.) made it 6-1 with a tally in the 67th minute.
Bell got in on the act in the final twelve minutes, scoring in the 79th and 86th minute and assisting on a goal by senior
Michele Bonagura (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) in the 83rd minute.
Junior
Lauren Dorsa (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) made one save to collect the victory for the Blue Knights.
Mount Saint Mary returns home for their final regular season game on Kaplan Field next Wednesday, October 29. They will take on Bard College starting at 7:00 p.m.
