NEWBURGH, NY – The Mount Saint Mary College women's volleyball team continued to play well inside the Skyline Conference on Saturday, improving their conference record to 4-1 with sweeps of Old Westbury and Farmingdale. The Blue Knights bumped their overall record to 7-14 with the two wins.
In the first match of the day, the Blue Knights rolled past Old Westbury (25-9, 25-22, 25-17). Freshman
Courtney Kenney (Hicksville, N.Y.) had a match-high 15 kills to goal along with 7 digs. Freshman
Teresa Sorrentino (Bellerose, N.Y.) had 8 kills, 9 digs, and 7 aces.
Mount Saint Mary dominated Farmingdale in the second match of the day, also winning in straight sets (25-17, 25-20, 25-15). Kenney led the way once again, this time finishing with 9 kills, 7 digs, and 3 aces. Freshman Jackie Nadeau (Uniondale, N.Y.) recorded 3 kills, 7 aces, and 3 blocks.
The Blue Knights face a week of non-conference competition before diving back into their conference schedule. Up next, the Mount will host Centenary College on Tuesday, October 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Kaplan Center. They will also take on William Paterson and Albertus Magnus next week.
