New York, N.Y. - The Mount Saint Mary College women's basketball team scored the first 14 points of the night and cruised the rest of the way to defeat Yeshiva University in Skyline Conference action, 61-17. MSMC moved to 6-1 overall and 3-0 inside the conference while Yeshiva dropped to 1-7 overall and 0-6 in Skyline competition
Junior Meredith Paggi (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) led the Blue Knights with 11 points on 5-of-11 shooting. Junior Brittany King (Cold Spring, N.Y.) had 9 points and 5 rebounds. Junior LaSheila Augustin (Valley Stream, N.Y.) and senior Vanessa Lawson (Kingston, N.Y.) each finished with a game-high 9 rebounds.
Yeshiva shot just 11.9% from the field in the game, a 7-for-59 effort. The Maccabees were 0-for-13 from behind the arc.
In their next time out, the Blue Knights will face the College of New Jersey in what should be another strong non-conference test. TCNJ was among the teams that received votes in this week's USA Today Division III Coaches' Poll. The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Ewing, N.J.
