Fr. Greg Fluet

Father Greg Fluet

Fr Gregoire “Greg” Fluet got to the Mount in 2017 and on day two, at the invitation of the Athletic Director and a Coach, was at a practice encouraging a team. He rarely misses a game and is considered one of the MSMC Knights’ biggest fans. He offers support to Athletics in many ways and is always available to coaches, staff, and especially student athletes to help and support in whatever way he can.  This includes academic advising, tutoring, and simply listening and offering advice, counsel, and spiritual uplift. Many teams ask for a blessing at the beginning of the season asking the Lord not for a win but that they compete to the best of their abilities.

Fr Greg loves to be Chaplain of the Mount and Director of Campus Ministry  and enjoys teaching one or two classes  (Religious Studies or History) a semester.

Fr Greg was born in Canada, in the Province of Quebec. His family moved to the United States when he was quite young. He completed his BA (Philosophy, magna cum laude) at Holy Apostles College and Seminary and went on to complete a Master of Divinity degree in theology and a second M.A. with a concentration in Church History at St John Seminary in Brighton, MA. Fr Greg went on further to study at Clark University in Worcester, MA,  where he completed an M.A. in American History and in 2002 a Ph.D. in history with concentration in the Modern European period. He was ordained a priest in Connecticut in 1982 and served as a pastor in two parishes and as a high school chaplain for many years.  He also taught at Holy Apostles College and Seminary in Cromwell, Connecticut where he was an associate professor both on the undergraduate and graduate level, and at Goodwin University in East Hartford, Connecticut.

Finally, there is no truth to the rumor that Fr Greg got a red card at a Women’s Soccer game…. It was a warning.
