    Assistant Throws Coach
Amanda Kennedy is the newest addition to the Mount Saint Mary College coaching staff. She was hired as the Assistant Throws Coach after her four years of NCAA eligibility at the Division 1 Level.

A Pittsburgh native, Kennedy competed for Marshall University as a javelin thrower for all four years of her collegiate career. During her freshman year at Marshall, she broke the standing school record and qualified for both NCAA prelims and the USATF Nationals.

After suffering a torn quad tendon during the preseason of her sophomore year, Kennedy struck back by medaling the following three years at the C-USA Outdoor conference championships and qualifying for the NCAA Championships. Kennedy served as a captain for Marshall's Thundering Herd and is the current javelin record holder.

Prior to Marshall, Kennedy was a three-sport standout at Bentworth High school playing volleyball, basketball and running track. She was a two time WPIAL javelin Champion and consistent contender at the PIAA State Track Meet. Kennedy was voted the Observer-Reporter Athlete of the Year in 2009.

Kennedy is a Daughter of Marshall University, where she earned a Bachelors of Art in History.

She currently resides in New Windsor, New York.Â
