Lorne Marcus

Lorne Marcus is a dedicated professional with a multifaceted background in law, sports administration, coaching, and academia. A proud alum of St. Thomas University School of Law and Graduate School, he holds a Juris Doctorate and a Masters in Sports Administration. His commitment to education began at the State University of New York at Cortland, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science while actively participating in intercollegiate athletics.

With a wealth of experience, Lorne has made significant contributions to the field of athletics. From 2008 to 2019, he served as Assistant Athletic Director and Head Track and Field Coach at St. Thomas Aquinas College, garnering multiple Coach of the Year awards and guiding over 10 athletes to All-American status. His recent role as Assistant Athletic Director and Head XC/Track Coach at St. Thomas University further exemplifies his commitment to excellence, achieving notable successes such as multiple All-Americans and conference standings. In addition to his coaching prowess, Lorne has shared his knowledge as an adjunct faculty member, teaching a variety of courses in sports administration, coaching philosophies, and criminal justice.

Beyond his extensive coaching and teaching experience, Lorne possesses a unique skill set, specializing in sprinters/jumpers and mid-distance runners. Technologically adept, he is proficient in tools such as LSDBI, Compliance Assistant, and Front Rush. Lorne is also CPR/AED/First Aid certified, reflecting his dedication to the well-being of his athletes.Â
