Michele Dreistadt

Michele Dreistadt returns for her 10th year as the Director of Intramurals & Recreation at Mount Saint Mary College in 2014-15.

Dreistadt previously served as the head coach for the Mount Saint Mary College softball team. During her five years with the program, Dreistadt led the Knights to an overall record of 85-94-1.  Her teams went 40-30 in Skyline play and qualified for postseason competition in four of the five seasons.

In 2011, Dreistadt guided the softball team to their first winning season since 2005.  The Knights posted an overall record of 23-13-1 and advanced to the Skyline Conference Tournament where they were defeated in the loser's bracket final.  Mount Saint Mary would go on to earn the second seed in the ECAC Metro Region Tournament, and following back-to-back 1-0 victories, the Knights were crowned as ECAC Champions for the first time in program history.

Prior to coming to the Mount, Dreistadt served as a baseball/softball instructor for nearly three years (2003-05) at Frozen Ropes in Scranton, Pa. She also worked as a group sales manager for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans minor league baseball team from 2001 to 2002.

Dreistadt played Division II softball for four years at Bloomsburg Univeristy (1997-2000). As a team captain during her senior season, she helped lead the Huskies to a third-place finish at the NCAA Division II Championship in 2000, losing only to eventual national champion North Dakota State, and national runner-up, Kennesaw State.

The Huskies went to the NCAA Tournament during each of Dreistadt’s four seasons. She still holds the school record at Bloomsburg for triples in a season (12) and triples in a career (22). She is ninth all-time in runs scored (132).

Dreistadt earned a bachelor’s degree in sports mass communications from Bloomsburg University in 2000.

Dreistadt is a native of Moosic, Pennsylvania.
