Joe Wolfe has joined the Mount Saint Mary College track and field program as an assistant coach for the 2012-13 season.
Mr. Wolfe began his coaching career at Cardinal Spellman High School, the Bronx, in 1960. He has coached numerous high school, collegiate, and Masters athletes over the years. He has also been a certified track and field official since 1964.
Wolfe attended the University of Notre Dame and was a member of the track team as a freshman, but ultimately graduated from St. John's University with a degree in social sciences (1958). He also holds a master's degree in counseling from Hofstra University (1964).
Mr. Wolfe started his educational career as a teacher in New York City and retired from professional education in 1990 as the high school principal in Ellenville, New York. He and his wife, Frances, have five children and 16 grandchildren. They reside in Ellenville.
