Daniel Drury

Dan Drury was promoted Head Swimming Coach and Director of Aquatics prior to the 2015-16 season after serving as the assistant coach for the men's and women's swimming programs for two years. He becomes the third head coach in the history of the men's and women's swimming programs.

Drury takes over a pair of Knights teams that have seen more success in recent history than any other time in the program’s tenure. The women’s swimming team won the Skyline Conference Championship for four straight seasons and captured its fifth straight conference crown in Drury’s first year at the helm. The women’s program went on to post its best finish at the Metropolitan Championship in 2016-17 when it placed eighth overall. Drury has been named the Women’s Skyline Conference of the Year following the 2016 and 2018 Skyline Conference Championship Meet.
 
Over the course of his three seasons at the helm, Drury’s women’s team has set 24 school records, including 15 during the 2016-17 season.
 
The men’s team made its best showings at the Skyline Conference Championship meet in the program’s history by finishing second in three straight seasons, with Drury mentoring the program to its third straight runner-up finish in his first season as head coach.
 
The Knights have recorded 11 school records over his three years as Head Coach and posted the program’s best overall finish at the Metropolitan Championship in 2016-17, finishing 12th overall.

The women’s program has been a force in the Skyline Conference, posting a dual meet record of 30-11, including a Skyline Conference record of 20-2. The Men’s program holds a 16-20 record under Drury, including an 11-5 mark against Skyline Conference rivals.

Drury also coached a trio of Skyline Women’s Swimmers of the Year, as well as a three Skyline Rookies of the Year.

Drury is a certified swimming coach through USA Swimming, as well as a certified lifeguard instructor through the Red Cross. He recently spent time coaching with New York City’s AGUA Swim Club, operating out of Asphalt Green on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Prior to coaching, he spent four years working full-time in the fitness industry, both in customer service and running athletic programs and summer camps for children.
 
Drury swam for five years with Coach Scott Warner’s program at Valley Central High School in Montgomery, N.Y.
 
Drury graduated from Mount Saint Mary in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in Spanish language and culture. He then continued his education at Mount Saint Mary, completing his master’s degree in business administration (MBA) in 2012.
