Mount Saint Mary College Athletics

Mount Saint Mary College Head Swimming Coach Randy Erlenbach has announced the hiring of Chris Mance as his assistant coach. Erlenbach and Mance will each be in their first season leading the Knights.
 

Mance has been involved in swimming his entire life. As an Age Group swimmer he swam with Attleboro Bluefish in Massachusetts and later trained with Josh Stern and BOSS during the summers.

 As a college swimmer, Mance swam for two years at the University of Kentucky and two years at Ohio University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Leisure studies. 

Mance moved to New York to start coaching in 2007 and founded Devilfish Aquatics in 2008. He also has coached with Cornwall Sea Dragons, New York Sharks and Phoenix Aquatic Club where he trained swimmers who achieved qualifying standards for Jr. Nationals and Speedo Sectionals and mentored a New York High School State Champion.

Mance’s philosophy is based on a learn to swim, learn to train, learn to achieve approach to instilling a life-long connection to the sport. He focuses on developing his athlete’s engagement in their physical and mental training by teaching them how reach their full potential as swimmers, teammates and student-athletes.
