Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary had a quick turnaround after beating St. Joseph's Long Island in extra innings the day prior. Grace MacDonald was once again on the Mound for the Knights, looking to upset top-seeded Manhattanville. The Valiants got on the board first with an RBI single in the bottom half of the 1st inning. The Mount struggled to get anything going offensively, as every ball they hit led to an out. Manhattanville kept it going in the bottom of the 2nd with 3 more runs to extend their lead. Grace Reich singled in the top of the 3rd for the Knights' first hit, but nothing would come of it. In the bottom half of the inning, the Valiants added another 2 runs to make it 6-0 in their favor.

Mount Saint Mary was really going to need to step it up if they were going to come back to defeat Manhattanville, who has dominated the Skyline all season. Grace MacDoanld settled down on the mound after the 3rd and did not allow another run for the rest of the game. She threw well over 100 pitches yesterday to help lead the Knights to the next round, showing her grit and determination as a player to pitch today. The Mount simply could not create any offense and fell to the Valiants 6-0. The Knights will play again on Saturday in the losers' bracket against Old Westbury.
