FLOWERS PARK, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College softball team locked up the #4 seed in the Skyline Conference Playoffs with two wins over Yeshiva.

Sunday was a big day for Mount Saint Mary College as they looked to clinch a home game in the first round of the Skyline Conference Playoffs with wins over Yeshiva. The Knights' offense was on fire from the jump, as
Grace Reich walked, then proceeded to steal second, third, and home to score. They would go up 4-0 after a single from
Samantha Stallone drove in a run. The Mount added another 3 runs in the bottom of the 2nd, with RBI singles from
Chloe Graham,
Grace MacDonald, and
Madison White. The Maccabees got 2 runners on in the bottom half of the inning, but
Peyton Dost struck out the side to end the inning. Mount Saint Mary scored a whopping 10 runs on 11 hits in the top of the 3rd, including a grand slam from
Isabella Covell to make it 17-0.
Yeshiva scored a couple of runs in the bottom half of the 3rd, with the Knights responding with 2 runs of their own off RBI singles from
Grace Reich and
Peyton Dost. In the top of the 5th,
Grace Terpening hit a homer to extend the Knights' lead to 20-2. In a last-ditch effort, the Maccabees scored a run, but
Peyton Dost was able to end the game, as the Mount won 20-3 in game 1.

The Knights continued to stay hot in game 2 with a 5-run 1st inning. RBI singles from
Autumn Strobach and
Grace Terpening, as well as a bases-clearing triple from
Megan Mann, gave them the lead.
Grace MacDonald started on the mound, going flawless in her 2 innings pitched, before
Peyton Dost came in. 2 home runs from
Chloe Graham and
Allie Kenney put another 6 runs on the board for the Mount as they were now up 11-0. In the top of the 3rd, the Knights scored 4 more runs, including a 2-RBI triple from Terpening. Yeshiva was able to get something going offensively in the bottom half of the inning, producing 4 runs as Mount Saint Mary still led 15-4.
The Knights added some insurance runs in the top of the 5th with RBI singles from
Megan Mann,
Grace Reich,
Michaela Manger,
Chloe Graham,
Ariana Corrente, and
Christina Merola. Five different Knights went perfect in the batter's box, including 3 for 3 games from
Grace MacDonald,
Christina Merola, and
Autumn Strobach.
