Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary College was back in the playoffs for the second straight year and looked to advance past the first round against St. Joseph's Long Island. Liz Petrellese had a great game in between the pipes and showed why she deserved an All-Conference nod. She stopped the first three shots she faced and even forced a turnover. Offensively, the Knights could not get anything going. This put a ton of pressure on the Mount defense, eventually leading to a goal for the Golden Eagles. St. Joseph's was able to add a couple more points on the board and shut out the Knights in the first quarter 3-0. Mount Saint Mary was finally able to overcome their turnover woes with a goal from Antonia Licardi at 10:39, as she was assisted by Shannon McGowan, who notched her 100th point of the season and became the first Knight to do so in program history. The teams would trade goals for the remainder of the half as Anastazia Sakowicz and Delisianna Naccarato would be assisted by Karlie Ferrucci, but the Knights trailed 5-3 heading into the half.

The Golden Eagles opened up the quarter with a goal, as this foreshadowed the rest of the third. Karlie Ferrucci was able to get the Mount on the board, but this was the team's only goal this period. St. Joseph's went on a 7-1 run in the quarter to create a large 12-4 gap. Peyton Curley scored her first career goal, followed by a goal from Victoria Maffettone to instill some hope into this Knights squad. Time was running out for Mount Saint Mary as Shannon McGowan scored with just under two minutes to play to cut their deficit to 12-7, but it was ultimately too late. St. Joseph's would score a last-second goal to ice the game and defeat the Knights 13-7.
