Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary celebrated Alumni Appreciation Day in their highly anticipated match with St. Joseph's Long Island. The Knights got off to a good start as Antonia Licardi found Karlie Ferrucci for their first goal of the game. This was a back and forth affair as neither team led by more than 2 goals. The Golden Eagles responded right after to tie the game up, but Shannon McGowan would find the back of the net to put the Mount back on top. Senior goalie Liz Petrellese made some big saves for the Knights this afternoon, especially down the stretch. The Knights would go up 4-2 after a couple goals from their leading scorer this season Delisianna Naccarato. Naccarato would find Antonia Licardi after a St. Joe's goal to put Mount Saint Mary back up by 2. The Golden Eagles took advantage of a woman-up opportunity to cut their deficit to just 1 in the start of the second quarter. The Knights continued to do their thing as Karlie Ferrucci notched her second goal of the game to put them up 6-4. An 8-minute scoring drought was put to an end by St. Joe's, but once again the Knights would respond as Kasey Senior buried a shot into the back of the net.

Mount Saint Mary led 7-5 coming out of the half, but the game was far from over. The Mount stalled on offense, allowing the Golden Eagles to score 3 straight and take an 8-7 lead. The Knights were held scoreless this quarter, as they were only able to put 3 shots on net and committed 3 penalties. They were able to rebound to start the fourth quarter, with Shannon McGowan scoring 2 goals in the first few minutes, including a no-look behind the back goal that set the crowd on fire. Their lead didn't last long, with St. Joe's tying the game back up less than a minute later. Just like it has been all game long, Delisianna Naccarato scored 40-seconds later to retake the lead 10-9. The remainder of this game was a defensive battle. The Golden Eagles were able to break the Knights full field press for a two on one and were able to convert and tie the game back up. In crunch time, Anastazia Sakowicz would score on the wrap-around, but a questionable dangerous shot foul nullified the goal and put the Knights down a player. St. Joe's converted off the penalty seconds later to gup 11-10 with just 1:28 left. The Mount won the ensuing draw control but turned the ball over, though they were able to force a turnover themselves and get the ball back. Mount Saint Mary got a good look, but were unable to prevail in the closing seconds as they lost 11-10 to St. Joseph's Long Island.
