Clearmont, FL-The Mount Saint Mary College Knights softball team (0-8) went 0-2 on day four of the Spring Games tournament in Florida. The Knights lost a close one to Saint Joseph's College of Maine (1-5) 8-3 in the first game, and fell to Springfield College (6-1) by a score of 11-0 in the second game.
Game 1
The Knights got off to a slow start against Saint Joseph's, but starting pitcher
Bridget Morris (6 IP, 5 SO) kept them in the game. The Knights found themselves down early in the first inning, but responded with a run in the bottom of the 3rd on a double by
Laura Dentato (2-4, 3 RBI) that scored
Melanie McClinchey (1-2, 1 R). Â It was in fact Dentato, twice more during the game, driving in the runs for the Mount. Â The additional runs were both scored by
Kristen Tellier.Â
Game 2
The second game of the day immediately followed the first game, giving coach Howe's team a quick break to catch their breath. Â
Grace MacDonald was in the circle for the Knights. Â She threw all 4 innings and saw 27 batters with 1 Strike out. Â Springfield College's offense didn't let up during the first two innings where they scored 11 runs. The Knights struggled at the plate, but
Chloe Graham,
Grace MacDonald, and
Olivia Ferara all got a hit.

The Knights will recover and come back tomorrow swinging. Â They will take on Carroll University at 11:30am, and Wesleyan University at 4pm. Â Tomorrow will be the last day of the SPRING games.
