NEWBURGH, N.Y. — Men's swimming hosted Brooklyn College tonight to compete in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. While the Knights fell short of an overall win (96-76) they certainly had a strong showing, winning all but one individual event. After the meet, both teams took part in a ceremony to honor those affected by breast cancer.
Edward Mills had a solid night's work, picking up wins in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:54.89), 100-yard freestyle (56.13) and the 500-yard freestyle (6:01.22).
Michael D'Ambrosio earned three wins as well, taking care of the 200-yard individual medley with a first-place finish at 2:24.73, the 100-yard backstroke (1:08.02) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:16.40).
Jackson Lerner had two wins, first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:08.53 then in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.91).
Men's swimming is back in the pool on Saturday, November 2 against William Paterson University at 1 PM on the road.
