Newburgh, NY- In their second home match of the season the Women's tennis team took on the Gators from Russell Sage College. Starting with the doubles,
Angelina Mainiero and
Paige Shrimpton captured their first win of the season, beating their opponents 8-4.
But the combo of Mainiero and Shrimpton weren't done for the day. During their singles matches, Angelina who seems to be on a hot streak, captured her second win of the season. Paige unfortunately lost a very close game that went to a tie breaker set against her opponent. Teammate
Peyton Curley almost pulled off a comeback in the second set of her match, narrowly losing 4-6.
"Each match we are learning and getting better, I am excited to see the growth and progress we are making as a team." Said Coach Butler in his post-game comments.
The Knights will be on the road September 23 in their next match versus the Purchase College Panthers.
