Baltimore, Md.  – Christopher Christiano (Waterbury, Conn.) closed out a stellar Outdoor season on Friday by breaking the school record in the 1,500-meters at the 2023 ECAC Championship. Christiano led the Mount to an eighth-place team finish in the 12-team field with the Knights earning 23 points.

Christiano, who was named Second Team All-Skyline Conference after placing second in the 800-meters in a school record time at the conference championship meet, put his name on the Outdoor record board in the 1,500-meters on Friday. He ran to a time of 4:09.15, good for fourth place overall, and smashed the previous mark of 4:15.34 set by
Kenneth Barrett on April 3, 2022.

Michael Gillespie (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) and
Greg Casale (Staten Island, N.Y.) also had strong days on the track for the Mount to close out the season. Gillespie finished sixth in the 400-meters in 55.93 seconds and 11
th in the 200-meters in 23.86 seconds, while Casale placed eighth in the 1,500-meters in a time of 4:46.76 and took the third position in the 5,000-meters, finishing the event in 19:31.22.

In the field events,
Andrew Maloy (Calabash, N.C.) closed out his career in strong fashion in the Hammer Throw. He earned a runner-up finish for the Knights in the event with a personal best throw of 40.34 meters.
