Kings Point, N.Y. – Christopher Christiano (Waterbury, Conn.) broke the 800-meter school record for the third straight meet on Sunday and ran sub 2:00 for the first time in program history, helping the Knights to a fourth-place finish on Sunday at the 2023 Skyline Conference Championship Meet.

Christiano had a strong day for the Knights, placing second in the 800-meters in a school record time of 1:57.03. The new record time smashed his pervious mark of 2:02.19 set on April 14 at RPI and he earned Second Team All-Skyline Conference recognition with his performance.

Michael Gillespie (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) had a strong day for the Mount in the sprints, earning a trio of top-10 finishes. Gillespie ran to a seventh-place finish in the 200-meters in 24.13 seconds, a ninth-place finish in the 400-meters in 53.48 seconds and a 10
th place finish in the 100-meters in 12.49 seconds.

Greg Casale (Staten Island, N.Y.) turned in a ninth-place finish for the Mount in the 800-meters with a time of 2:21.04 and added a seventh-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, completing the event in 11:49.60.

Andrew Maloy (Calabash, N.C.) had a big day for the Mount in the throws, highlighted by a third place showing in the Hammer Throw with a heave of 36.82 meters. Maloy added a ninth-place finish in the Discus with a mark of 25.53 and a 10
th place finish in the Shot Put, posting a mark of 9.02.

USMMA won the team event with a point total of 267, clearing second place Farmingdale State by 34 points.

Next up for Mount Saint Mary is the ECAC Championship set for May 12 at Goucher College in Baltimore, Md.
