Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Tennis team returned to action at home on Thursday and suffered a hard fought 5-4 loss to visiting John Jay.
Dylan Joslin (Levittown, N.Y.) picked up his first career win for the Knights at fourth singles.
Mount Saint Mary suffered losses in the two doubles matches that were contested with the second pair of
Carly Green (Holbrook, N.Y.) and
Victoria Valencia (Floral Park, N.Y.) battling hard in an 7-8 (1-7) decision at the second position.
John Jay scored victories at the top three singles positions on Thursday with Joslin getting into the win column for the Mount at the fourth slot with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph.
Thursday's loss drops Mount Saint Mary to 1-5 overall on the season heading into a non-conference match with Western Connecticut on April 17.
