Women’s Lacrosse Travels To Farmingdale State, Hosts St. Joseph’s-L.I.

Knights honor seniors prior to Saturday’s contest

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Lacrosse team is set for two conference contests this week when it travels to Farmingdale State Wednesday afternoon and hosts St. Joseph's-L.I. on Senior Day Saturday at 12:00 p.m. Live Stats and Video will be provided for both contests for those unable to attend.
 
At A Glance: Mount Saint Mary takes the field on Wednesday for the first time since topping the College of Mount Saint Vincent 13-11 on April 4. The Knights enter the contest with the Rams on Wednesday with a 4-6 overall record and a 1-1 mark in conference play.
 
Coming off a nine-point game in the win over the Dolphins last week, Victoria Ward (Oceanside, N.Y.) sits atop the team leaderboard with 24 goals, 13 assists and 37 points. Ward also paces the Mount with 28 draw controls and adds 13 groundballs and four caused turnovers. Ward is tied for eighth in the conference in total goals and ranks eighth in points per game (3.70).
 
Karlie Ferrucci (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) is second on the team in both goals and points with 14 and 18, respectively, adding 20 draw controls for the Knights to go along with 21 groundballs and eight caused turnovers. Freshman Antonia Licardi (Pine Bush, N.Y.) checks in with 10 goals, 15 points and seven forced turnovers for the Knights.
 
Carolyn Del Debbio (Southington, Conn.) has won 17 draw controls for the Mount, good for third on the team, to go along with seven points, while Erica Schmidgall (North Massapequa, N.Y.) checks in with nine goals, seven assists and 16 points for the Mount.
 
Kate Crooker (Boonton, N.J.) leads the Mount with 18 caused turnovers and ranks second on the team with 22 groundballs while chipping in four points on the offensive side. Maggie Horan (Stony Point, N.Y.) and Briana Fassett (New Milford, Conn.) are tied for second on the team with 15 caused turnovers apiece with Horan scooping 22 groundballs.

Liz Petrellese (Levittown, N.Y.) has seen all the action in goal for the Mount and leads the team in groundballs with 23. Petrellese ranks second in the Skyline Conference with 111 saves and is working to a .442 save percentage and a 14.00 goals against average, marks that rank seventh and 10th in the conference.
 
Scouting Farmingdale State: The Rams enter Wednesday's contest having dropped four of their last five contests and hold a 3-7 overall record and a 1-2 mark in Skyline Conference play. After topping St. Joseph's-L.I. 17-5 on April 1, Farmingdale State dropped league decisions to USMMA and Maritime.
 
Athena Vogiatzis leads the way on the offensive end with 21 goals and ranks second on the team with 23 points. Megan Diamond leads the team with 29 points on the strength of 15 goals and a team-high 14 assists while securing 42 draw controls.  
 
Nicole Pontecorvo checks in with 13 goals for the Rams with Ashley Codispoti and Marina Zumbrunn adding 12 markers apiece. Anna Hushes has assisted on 10 goals for the Rams and enters Wednesday's game with 13 points.
 
Celina Schenk has forced a team-high 17 turnovers through 10 games to go along with 18 groundballs. Emily Zeblisky has scooped 20 groundballs and chips in six caused turnovers.
 
Ronnie Reilly leads the team with 23 groundballs as the team's goalie and leads the Skyline Conference with 122 total saves. Reilly ranks fifth in the conference with a .500 save percentage and seventh with an 11.90 goals against average.
 
Recent History: Mount Saint Mary and Farmingdale State have met 16 times since 2010 with the Rams coming away victorious in each meeting.
 
A Look At St. Joseph's-L.I.: The Golden Eagles head to USMMA on Wednesday with a 3-4 overall record and a 2-1 mark against league rivals. St. Joseph's is coming off back-to-back shutout victories, topping Old Westbury 16-0 on April 5 and Purchase 19-0 on April 7.
 
Jamie Trowbridge leads the way on offense with 17 goals and 29 points while adding 35 draw controls. Melissa Newman has tallied 10 times and totaled 16 points through seven games for the Golden Eagles.
 
Megan Spina has forced a team best 11 turnovers for St. Joseph's to go along with 19 groundballs, while Emma Lang has scooped a team-high 21 groundballs to go along with nine caused turnovers, six goals and six assists.
 
In goal, Maggie Harding has made 48 saves for the Golden Eagles and holds a .403 save percentage and a 10.61 goals against average.
 
Recent History: Mount Saint Mary and St. Joseph's will meet for the 12th time since the start of the 2012 season on Saturday with the Golden Eagles winning each of the previous 11 meetings.
 
What's Next: Mount Saint Mary continues league play with a home game against Purchase on April 18 and a trip to USMMA on April 22.
