Newburgh, N.Y. – Playing its first home games of the season, the Mount Saint Mary College Softball team suffered a pair of losses to Ramapo Tuesday, falling 12-3 and 4-3 to the Roadrunners.
Olivia Ferara (Middletown, N.Y.) recorded three hits over the two games, including a game one home run.

Tuesday's results drop Mount Saint Mary to 4-8 overall on the season while Ramapo, who received votes in the latest NFCA top-25 poll, improves to 13-3.

Game 1: Ramapo 12 – Mount Saint Mary 3 (F/6)
How It Happened
- After being held off the board in the first two frames of the opener, Ramapo plated at least two runs in its final four at-bats.
- Katie Rygiel and Alexis Corra delivered the first two runs in the third with groundouts and a sacrifice fly, respectively.
- The Roadrunners plated three more runs in the top of the fourth to open a 5-0 advantage.
- Avery Kontura drove in two runs with a home run with Rygiel picking up another RBI with an infield single.
- Mount Saint Mary got a run back in the home half of the fourth following a leadoff double from Laura Dentato (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Sophia Reed (Rockaway, N.J.).
- Ramapo came right back with two more runs in the fifth and surged in front 12-1 with five tallies in the sixth.
- Kori Gargiulo delivered the big blow in the sixth inning with a two-out, three run double.
- Mount Saint Mary plated its final two runs in the bottom of the sixth after stringing together three hits.
- Ferara led off the inning with a home run with Rory Littman (Rancho Cordova, Calif.) shooting a single to left to push home Dentato with the game's final run.

For The Knights
- Dentato finished the opener 2-for-3 with two doubles and two runs scored.
- Ferara homered for the first time this season.
- Littman came off the bench to record a hit and an RBI.
- Sofia Gannon (East Patchogue, N.Y.) doubled for the Knights.
- Bridget Morris (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) suffered the loss, allowing four earned runs on seven hits. Morris struck out three and did not allow a walk.

Game 2: Ramapo 4 – Mount Saint Mary 3 (F/6 – darkness)
How It Happened
- Mount Saint Mary jumped in front 1-0 in the bottom of the first in game two.
- Ferara led off the game for the Knights with a double and later crossed with the first run of the tilt on a one-out double from Samantha Bendig (Tampa, Fla.).
- Ramapo got the game even at 1-1 in the second on a Nicole Cerasi run scoring single and moved in front 2-1 an inning later on a Kontura single that chased home Mahogany Wheeler.
- The Roadrunner moved their lead to 4-1 in the fourth on a pair of unearned runs.
- Mount Saint Mary pulled to within 4-2 in the home half of the fourth when Ferara shot a single up the middle that drove in Grace MacDonald (Concord, N.H.) with two outs.
- After holding Ramapo off the board in the fifth and sixth frames, the Knights got to within a run in the bottom of the sixth and had the tying run on base.
- Bendig drove in Paige Shrimpton (Rockville Center, N.Y.) with a groundout, but the Knights were unable to find the tying run.
- The game was called following the bottom of the sixth due to darkness.

- Ferara finished game two 2-for-3 with a double, walk, run scored and an RBI.
- Bendig doubled and drove in two runs, moving into a tie for the team lead in RBI with eight.
- MacDonald went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.
- Shrimpton finished with a hit and a run for the Knights.
- MacDonald took the loss in the circle, but pitched well, allowing two unearned runs in 6.0 innings. She struck out two and walked one.
