Annandale-On-Hudson, NY — After last night's
meet at home, Knights Swimming headed to Bard College this afternoon. It was a solid day's work—the men and women both won over the Raptors.
Women's Recap
The Women won with a final score of 101-75, earning first place finishes in all but two individual races and racking up seven individual firsts overall.
Grace MacHugh,
Cayla Nicholas,
Kitty Masayda,
Meghan Wurster and
Emily Gursky earned individual wins for the Knights today.
MacHugh earned the first win of the afternoon in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:25.30.
Masayda won the 200-yard individual medley, coming in at 2:30.04.
Cayla Nicholas and
Grace MacHugh then took care of sprint freestyle—Nicholas winning the 50-yard race at a 26.92 and MacHugh taking first in the 100-yard swim at a 1:02.01.
Gursky won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:12.06, followed by Wurster's win in the 500-yard freestyle with a 5:51.48—over a minute faster than the rest of the field.
Masayda cleared the final individual race of the day, swimming to first in the 100-yard breastroke with a time of 1:14.99.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Gursky, Nicholas,
Victoria DeLuca and MacHugh rounded out the meet with a final win at 1:58.86.
Men's Recap
The Knights Men won with a score of 71-56.
Tyler Williams,
Michael D'Ambrosio and
Jackson Lerner earned first place finishes this afternoon. Williams earned three, while D'Ambrosio and Lerner had two apiece.
D'Ambrosio won the 200-yard freestyle today, coming in at 2:16.66 before winning the 200-yard individual medley as well (2:34.82).
Lerner swam to first place in the 50-yard freestyle at a 24.87, then won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:10.08.
Williams finished strong and touched out Bard's swimmer to win the 100-yard backstroke with a 1:07.72 after wins in the 1000–yard freestyle (12:27.93) and 100-yard freestyle (1:03.11).
Knights Swimming will hit the road again on Nov. 17 to Staten Island, for the two-day College of Staten Island invitational.
