Men’s Golf Continues Fall Season At FDU-Florham, Western Connecticut

Knights in action Monday afternoon

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Golf team continues its busy 2022 Fall Schedule on Monday with a trip to the FDU-Florham Fall Invitational before traveling out I-84 to Danbury, Conn. on Friday for a dual match at Western Connecticut.
 
At A Glance: The Knights were in action twice last week, winning the three-team Mitchell Invitational on Wednesday before posting a third place finish on Sunday at the Yeshiva Skyline Invitational.
 
In Wednesday's victory, Patrick Shea (Warwick, N.Y.), who has led the Mount in the each of the season's first three events, made his way around the par-71 course on Wednesday with a season-best round of 74. He finished just two shots off the lead.
 
Matthew Ropiak (Staten Island, N.Y.) also turned in a strong round on Wednesday, firing a season-low score of 77. He finished at plus-six on the day and just three shots behind P. Shea and five shots off the lead.
 
Making his third start of the season, Trevor Zamudio (Beacon, N.Y.) closed out the day with a round of 80 for the Knights. Christopher Closi (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) made his first career start for the Knights on Wednesday and closed the day shooting 81.
 
Chris Shea (Warwick, N.Y.) rounded out the Mount Saint Mary lineup on Wednesday, shooting an 82 for the Knights.
 
On Sunday at Yeshiva, Trevor Zamudio (Beacon, N.Y.)  broke 80 for the first time in his four-start career for the Knights on Sunday, carding a 77 on the par-71 course at Pelham Bay. He finished five shots off the lead for the Mount.
 
Freshman Christopher Closi (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) also turned in a strong round for the Mount, finishing in a three-way tie for sixth place with a round of 80 (+9).
 
Chris Shea (Warwick, N.Y.) made his way around the Pelham Bay course in 82 strokes on Sunday, good for a tie for ninth place, while John DelBene (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) carded a 90 and finished 21st for the Knights.
 
Jonathan Kara (White Plains, N.Y.) finished out the day for the Mount with a 96, finishing in the 23rd position overall.
 
What's Next: After Friday's match at Western Connecticut, the Knights will take part in the Manhattanville Invitational on September 26 and the St. Joseph's-L.I. Invitational on October 1.
