Patrick Shea paces the Mount in victory

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Golf team rallied for a 319-324 victory over league rival Manhattanville on Thursday in its 2022 season opener. Patrick Shea (Warwick, N.Y.) was the individual medalist in the match, while Trevor Zamudio (Beacon, N.Y.) carded the Mount second lowest score in his Mount Saint Mary debut.

P. Shea continued his standout career with a two-shot victory over both Ryan Moran and Corey Popower from Manhattanville. Shea made his way around the par-70 course at the Powelton Club in a five-over par 75, leading Knights to the team victory.

Playing in his first match for the Knights, Zamudio finished the day with an 80 (+10) on Thursday, good enough for a fourth place finish overall for the Mount.

Chris Shea (Warwick, N.Y.) and John Del Bene (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) each carded an 82 for the Mount to finish in a tie for fifth place with Matthew Ropiak (Staten Island, N.Y.) finishing up the round with an 88 for the Knights.

In his season debut, Owen Gallagher (Watertown, Mass.) fired an 89 for the Knights, finishing in a tie for 10th place overall.
