Kings Point, N.Y. – Mount Saint Mary College Senior Samantha Papadopoulos (Smithtown, N.Y.) won three events, including both of the hurdle races, and set a new Outdoor School Record in the Triple Jump on Sunday as the Women's Track and Field team continued the 2022 season at the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
 
Papadopoulos started the day with victories for the Mount in both the 100 and 400-meter hurdles on Sunday. She completed the 100-meter race in 18.18 seconds before taking the 400-meter race in a time of 1:16.34. She went on to top the field in the Long Jump with a leap of 4.75 meters before setting the new standard in the Triple Jump with a mark of 9.54 meters, good for second place in the event. The new record eclipsed the old mark of 9.32 meters set in 2012.
 
Victoria Veloz-Vicioso (Englewood, N.J.) turned in a fourth-place finish in the High Jump with a mark of 1.35 meters with KellyAnn Platt (Staten Island, N.Y.) closing a strong day in the field events for the Knights with a heave of 8.00 meters in the Shot Put, good for ninth place.
 
Jessica Kerrigan (Howard Beach, N.Y.) placed fourth in the Long Jump with a mark of 4.17 meters and added a sixth-place finish in the 100-meter dash, posting a time of 14.46 seconds. Joanne Kubat (Williston Park, N.Y.) took sixth for the Mount in the 400-meter hurdles and added seventh place finishes in the 100-meter hurdles and Long Jump.
 
Priya Patel (Ozone Park, N.Y.) turned in a fifth-place finish in the 800-meters in a time of 2:57.81 while Ashlyn Rivera (Ellenville, N.Y.) placed seventh for the Mount in the 1,500-meters, showing a time of 6:45.07.

Mount Saint Mary will return to action on Friday, April 8 when it takes part in the Vassar Invitational.
