Kings Point, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Track and Field team continued the 2022 season on Sunday at USMMA.
Kenneth Barrett (Wantagh, N.Y.) won the 1,500-meters for the Knights, while
Dabein Walker (Wyandanch, N.Y.) tied for first in the High Jump and collected two other runner-up finishes.
Barrett continued his standout career for the Mount with a victory in the 1,500-meters and a sixth-place finish in the 5,000-meters. His victory came in a time of 4:15.34, while his 5K run completed in 16:43.85.
Ramasoj Williams and
Michael Gillespie also had strong days for the Mount on the track with Williams placing fifth and Gilespie taking ninth in the 200-meter dash.
Walker continued his dominance in the field events for the Knights on Sunday, tying for first in the High Jump and adding runner-up finishes in the Long and Triple Jumps. Walker and Farmingdale State's Jovany Philippe tied for top spot in the High Jump with a mark of 1.77 meters. Walker went on to post marks of 6.02 meters and 11.50 in the Long and Triple Jumps, respectively.
Andrew Maloy and Jesse Hull (Mahopac, N.Y.) also had solid days in the field for the Mount. Maloy picked up a third-place finish in the Hammer Throw with a heave of 34.59 meters and added a 10
th place showing in the Shot Put with a mark of 8.05 meters. Hull took the fifth position in the Discus with a throw of 25.34 meters and claimed the eighth position in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 17.43 meters.
Mount Saint Mary continues the 2022 Outdoor Season on Friday at the Vassar Invitational.
