Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Tennis team returned to action for the first time since October 15, dropping a 9-0 decision to visiting Plattsburgh Saturday afternoon.
Julia Flynn (Naugatuck, Conn.) and
Carly Green (Holbrook, N.Y.) battled in tight matches at second and third singles.
Flynn finished a marathon match at second singles, dropping a hard fought 4-6, 6-7 (3-7) decision to Alyana Leandry, while Green battled in a 4-6, 4-6 defeat for the Knights at the third position.
Katie Murray (Highland Mills, N.Y.) suffered a hard fought 2-6, 3-6 decision at the top singles flight for the Mount on Saturday.
Saturday's loss drops Mount Saint to 6-5 overall on the season. Next up for the Knights is a home match against Hartwick on April 10.
