Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Lacrosse team continues conference play this week with visits to St. Joseph's-L.I. on Tuesday and Purchase on Friday. Both contests are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. with Live Stats and Video available for Wednesday's contest and Live Stats provided for Friday's tilt with the Panthers.
At A Glance: Mount Saint Mary stopped a three-game slide on Wednesday with a come-from-behind 13-9 victory on the road at Castleton. With the win, Mount Saint Mary improved to 7-4 and enters Wednesday's league tilt in search of its first conference win of the season.
Megan Shalvey (Blauvelt, N.Y.) continues to lead the team in scoring, amassing a team best 37 goals and 47 points through 11 contests. Shalvey ranks fifth in the conference in goals to begin the week and seventh in the league in points.
Victoria Ward (Oceanside, N.Y.) has assisted on a team-high 14 goals and adds 15 goals for 29 points. Ward contributes 12 draw controls, six groundballs and a pair of caused turnovers for the Knights.
Ashley Giorgi (Danbury, Conn.) supports the Mount's offensive attack with 18 goals.
Freshman Karli Ferrucci (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) has potted 13 goals to date for the Mount and leads the team with 27 groundballs while sitting in a tie for the team lead in caused turnovers with 14. Ferruci has won 10 draw controls, which ranks fourth on the team.
Maggie Horan (Stony Point, N.Y.) and
Kate Crooker (Boonton, N.J.) anchor the defense for the Knights with Horan tied with Ferrucci with 14 caused turnovers. Crooker checks in with 13 forced miscues and is third on the team with 19 groundballs. Horan ranks second on the squad with 22 groundballs and also ranks second with 15 draw controls.
Jackie Lindsay (Baldwin, N.Y.) sits atop the team leaderboard with 41 draw controls and chips in nine caused turnovers, 12 groundballs and seven points on the strength of five goals and a pair of assists.
Liz Petrellese (Levittown, N.Y.) has started each of the Knights' 11 games to date in goal and enters Tuesday contest with a 12.69 goals against average and a .455 save percentage while stopping 91 shots. Petrellese is coming off a career-high 13 save performance in Wednesday's win.
Mary Massaro (Watertown, Conn.) has appeared in six games and made 15 stops for the Knights.
Scouting St. Joseph's-L.I.: The Golden Eagles begin play on Tuesday with a 2-6 overall record and a 1-3 mark against league rivals. St. Joseph's has dropped three of its last four outings, with the lone win over that stretch coming in a 13-0 blanking of Purchase on April 11.
Melissa Newman leads the scoring attack with 20 goals and 22 points, while Jamie Trowbridge checks in with 16 goals and 21 points. Emily O'Mara leads the team with six assists to date and ranks third on the team with 17 points.
Deirdre Carney has won a team-high 28 draw controls while adding 14 caused turnovers and 19 groundballs. Trowbridge has forced a team-high 15 turnovers while collecting 19 groundballs and winning 21 draws.
Jillian Hummell has started seven of the team's eight contests in goal and played 396:57 of a possible 480:00. Hummell has stopped 93 opponent shots and holds a 11.94 goals against average and a .541 save percentage.

Previewing Purchase: The Panthers enter a road tilt at Manhattanville Tuesday night with a 1-6 overall record and an 0-3 mark in Skyline Conference play. Purchase has dropped its last four contests and is looking for its first win since a 12-7 victory over Mitchell on March 23.
Madison Buttice leads the scoring attack with 15 goals and 18 points while adding team-highs in groundballs (29), caused turnovers (16) and draw controls (39). Brienne Westfall has assisted on a team-high five goals and ranks second on the team with five goals and 10 points.
Casandra Schmoger has started all seven games in goal for the Panthers and has stopped 94 shots. Schmoger is sporting a 12.17 goals against average and a .550 save percentage in 379:43 worth of action between the pipes.
Recent History: Since the start of the 2016 season, Mount Saint Mary holds a 4-1 record against Purchase. Since dropping a tight 14-13 decision on the road on April 7, 2016, the Mount has won the last four meetings in the head-to-head series.
