Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Lacrosse team will host a pair of non-conference games this week, welcoming Sage to Newburgh on Wednesday evening and Marywood to Kaplan Field Friday afternoon. Live Stats and Video will be available for both games for those unable to attend.
 
At A Glance: Following a 12-11 overtime win over Ramapo on Thursday, Mount Saint Mary has won three games in a row and stands at 4-1 overall on the season.
 
Megan Shalvey (Blauvelt, N.Y.), who was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week on Monday, is coming off a six-goal game against Ramapo and paces the team with 17 goals. She sits atop the team leaderboard with 21 points and has also chipped in seven groundballs, two caused turnovers and a pair of draw controls.
 
Shalvey enters Wednesday's contest with the Gators as the league leader in goals and in a tie for first in points.
 
Ashley Giorgi (Danbury, Conn.) ranks second on the team in goals with nine with 
Victoria Ward (Oceanside, N.Y.) sitting third in goals with seven and second in points with 11. Ward adds six draw controls for the Knights.
 
Karlie Ferrucci (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.), named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday, leads the team with 15 groundballs to go along with six caused turnovers and five draw controls. Offensively, Ferrucci has contributed seven points on the strength of six goals and an assist.
 
Liz Petrellese (Levittown, N.Y.), the Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Week, has earned the decision in goal in all five games to date and enters the new week with 41 saves, an 11.52 goals against average and a .451 save percentage. Petrellese ranks second in the league in total saves and fifth in both goals against average and save percentage.
 
Scouting Sage: The Gators come to down on Wednesday winless in two outings to date in 2022, falling to Morrisville State 12-7 and Bard 9-8.
 
Alexandra Queeney paces the Sage offensive attack with five goals and seven points with Grace Hines and Caroline Musinski each scoring three times through the first two contests.
 
Musinski leads the way with nine groundballs with Queeney winning a team-high 11 draw controls. Aimee Rodriguez sits atop the team leaderboard with five caused turnovers.
 
Recent History: The old Skyline Conference rivals have met 10 times since 2010 with the Mount holding a perfect 10-0 record. The two teams last met on March 10, 2020 in Albany with the Mount coming away with a 20-9 victory in the program's final game before Covid-19 canceled the remainder of the season.
 
A Look At Marywood: The Pacers have dropped their last two outings, including a 15-9 defeat at Misericordia on Tuesday, and enter Friday's contest with the Knights at 3-2.
 
Emma Solomon and Kayla McCabe lead the way with 17 goals apiece with Solomon adding five assists for a team-high 22 points. McCabe checks in with 21 points, while Alaina Brenneman checks in with 11 points on the strength of nine goals and a pair of helpers.
 
Solomon has picked up a team-high 18 groundballs with Brenneman winning a team-high 21 draw controls and causing a team-best seven turnovers.
 
Emily Dyminski has played 240:00 of a possible 300:00 in goal for Marywood through five games and has stopped 42 shots. Dyminski holds a .560 save percentage and an 8.25 goals against average.
 
Recent History: The two programs have met four times since 2012 with Marywood holding a 3-1 records. The Pacers and Knights will meet on Friday for the first time since a 19-5 win for Marywood in Newburgh on March 1, 2017.
 
What's Next: Following Friday's contest, the Knights will be off until March 30 when they open Skyline Conference play at home against Farmingdale State.
