Garden City, N.Y. - The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Swimming team continued the 2022-23 season Friday afternoon with a 79-14 road loss at Division II Adelphi. Joseph Tagliareni (Hackettstown, N.J.) finished the day with a pair of runner-up finishes for the Knights.
Tagliareni continued the strong start to his season on Friday, earning runner-up points for the Knights in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly. His freestyle swim concluded in a time of 23.22 seconds before he touched out in the butterfly race in 56.90 seconds. Tagliareni also picked up a third place finish on Friday in the 100-yard backstroke.
Jackson Lerner (Bayside, N.Y.) closed out Friday's meet with a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle to go along with a pair of third place finishes. Lerner touched out second in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:11.49 before taking the third position in the 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breaststroke.
Tyler Williams (Middlebury, Conn.) turned in a strong swim for the Knights in the 500-yard freestyle, swimming to a time of 5:54.14.
Friday's result drops Mount Saint Mary to 1-2 overall on the season. The Knights will be right back in pool Saturday after when it takes on league rival Purchase at St. Joseph's-L.I.
