Newburgh, N.Y. – After winning the Purchase Invitational on Tuesday, the Mount Saint Mary College Men's Golf team returned to the course on Wednesday and placed third in a four-team field at the MSMC Knights Fall Shootout.
Trevor Zamudio (Beacon, N.Y.) led the Knights with a fifth place finish.
Zamudio continued his strong first collegiate season on Wednesday, taking fifth overall in a 23-golfer field. He carded an 80 for the Knights, finishing the round 10-over par on the par 70 course at the Powelton Club.
John Del Bene (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and
Matthew Ropiak (Staten Island, N.Y.) finished in a tie for seventh place with each player posting a round of 82.
J.T. Maccarrone (Lakeland, N.Y.) closed the day in a tie for 14
th place with a round of 88, with
Christopher Closi (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) carding a 90, good for a tie for 16
th place.
Playing as individuals,
Dylan Joslin (Levittown, N.Y.) and
Corey Sowers (Marlboro, N.Y.) also turned in solid rounds on Wednesday. Joslin finished in 93 strokes, placing 18
th overall, while Sowers carded a 109, placing 22
nd for the Knights.
Mount Saint Mary will be off until October 18 when they take part in the Turtle Creek Intercollegiate hosted by Arcadia.
