Patchogue, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Tennis team saw its season come to an end on Thursday following a 5-1 loss at top-seeded St. Joseph's-L.I. in the Semifinal Round of the Skyline Conference Championship.
Julia Flynn (Naugatuck, Conn.) won the Knights' lone match of the day, scoring a win a fifth singles.
Flynn closed out her first collegiate season unbeaten in singles play for the Knights with a 6-2, 6-2 win for the Mount. With the team's only win in the match, Flynn finishes off the 2021 season a perfect 6-0 in singles play. She split the six decisions evenly over the fourth and fifth slots, going 3-0 at each position.
Mount Saint Mary got down 3-0 after doubles play on Thursday, dropping two hard fought decisions in the process. Flynn and
Carly Green (Holbrook, N.Y.) were edged 8-6 at the second position, while
Jessalyn Goetz (Bethel, N.Y.) and
Katrina Imperio (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) were outlasted at the third slot by a score of 9-7.
Thursday's semifinal loss closes the Knights' season with a 3-4 record.
