Patchogue, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Tennis Team suffered its third straight loss on Sunday afternoon following a 7-2 road defeat at St. Joseph's-L.I.
Jessalyn Goetz (Bethel, N.Y.) and
Julia Flynn (Naugatuck, Conn.) scored singles wins for the Knights in the match.
Flynn remained unbeaten in singles play on the season, moving to 5-0 on the year with Sunday's win. She battled to a 6-4, 6-2 victory at the fourth position on Sunday, giving her a 3-0 record at fourth singles on the year.
Goetz improved to 4-1 overall in singles play on Sunday with her win at the third flight for the Knights. She took care of her opponent from the Golden Eagles by scores of 6-4, 6-2 to move to 2-1 in third singles matches.
Sunday's loss drops Mount Saint Mary to 2-3 both overall and in conference play heading into the regular season finale against Purchase on Monday. First serve for the home match with the Panthers is set for 5:00 p.m.
