Bronxville, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Swimming team split a tri-meet at Sara Lawrence on Saturday, falling to host Gryphons 90-45 before postings its first win of the season with an 84-12 triumph over Queensborough.
Emily Crowley (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) and
Kristen Dwight (Newfield, N.J.) each scored wins for the Knights on the day.
Crowley picked up her victory on Saturday in the 100-yard breaststroke after posting a time of 1:18.64. Crowley added a runner-up finish for the Knights in the 50-yard freestyle, posting a time of 30.10 to close out a strong day for the Mount.
Dwight bested the field for the Mount in the 200-yard freestyle and added a third place finish for the Knights in the 100-yard freestyle race. Dwight's victory came in 2:23.27 with her third place swim finishing in 1:06.40.
Emily Gursky (Oakville, Conn.) and
Jillian Bunch (Newburgh, N.Y.) both finished the meet with two runner-up finishes for the Knights. Bunch took second in both the 1,000 and 500-yard freestyle races in 12:25.85 and 5:54.17 with Gursky taking second place in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard backstroke in 2:45.87 and 1:13.46, respectively.
Saturday's split moves Mount Saint Mary to 1-4 overall and 0-2 against conference rivals. Next up for the Mount is a home meet with FDU-Florham on November 13. Meet time is set for 1:00 p.m. at the Kaplan Center pool.
