Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's and Women's Swimming teams will return to the pool on Saturday when they head to Sarah Lawrence for a Skyline Conference dual meet with the Gryphons. Events in Bronxville are scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.

MSMC Men At A Glance: The Mount Saint Mary men's squad enters Saturday's conference meet with an 0-1 overall record following a 150-36 loss to Staten Island on October 21.
Peter O'Malley (Yonkers, N.Y.) finished a strong season opener on Thursday with second place showings in both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle races. He touched out in the 50-yard race in a time of 24.75 seconds before finishing the 100-yard event in 55.46 seconds.
Joseph Tagliareni (Hackettstown, N.J.) also opened the season in strong fashion with a second place swim in the 200-yard freestyle and a third place finish in the 100-yard backstroke. He completed the freestyle race in 1:59.29 before rounding out the backstroke event in a time of 1:15.97.
Tyler Williams (Middlebury, Conn.) and
Jackson Lerner (Bayside, N.Y.) each closed the night with third place finishes for the Knights. Williams came home third in both the 200-yard individual medley and 500-yard freestyle in times of 2:30.20 and 6:07.74 with Lerner coming home third in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:02.02.
Mount Saint Mary picked up second place points on Thursday in each of the two relay events in the meet. The team of Tagliareni, Williams, Lerner and O'Malley opened the meet with a time of 1:53.91 in the 200-yard medley race before the same quartet closed the night with a time of 1:40.68 in the 200-yard freestyle event.
MSMC Women At A Glance: The Women's team suffered a 105-53 loss at St. Joseph's-L.I. in its conference opener on October 29.
Jillian Bunch (Newburgh, N.Y.) continued the strong start to her season on Friday with wins in the 1,000-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly for the Knights. Her freestyle win came in a time of 12:31.72 before topping the field in the butterfly race in 1:08.79.
Emily Gursky (Oakville, Conn.) turned in a strong swim on Friday, winning the 200-yard individual medley and adding a third place finish in the 100-yard freestyle. She touched out first in the IM race in 2:50.71 before swimming a time of 1:07.91 in the freestyle event.
Emily Crowley (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) swam to a first place finish for the Mount in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:21.04 and added a third place swim in the 50-yard freestyle, completing the race in 30.93 seconds.
Kristen Dwight (Newfield, N.J.) also had a strong night for the Mount, scoring a second place finish in the 100-yard backstroke and a third place finish in the 200-yard freestyle. She posted a time of 1:15.67 in the backstroke and showed a time of 2:26.31 in the freestyle race.
Recent History: Since the start of the 2014 season, the Mount Saint Mary Men's team is a perfect 6-0 against Sarah Lawrence. Most recently, the Knights scored a tight 75-70 win over the Gryphons in Bronxville on November 9, 2019.
The Women's team is an unblemished 7-0 against the Gryphons dating back to 2007, with the most recent victory coming in an 85-70 decision on November 9, 2019.
What's Next: Mount Saint Mary will swim in its first home meet since January 18, 2020 when it welcomes FDU-Florham to the Kaplan Center Pool on November 13.
