Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's and Women's Swimming teams will head to Wilkes-Barre, Pa. this weekend for the three-day Diamond City Invitational hosted by King's (Pa.). Events at the Wyoming Valley CYC will begin Friday evening with Live Scoring and Video available for those who are unable to attend the meet.

MSMC Men At A Glance: The Mount Saint Mary Men's team enters the weekend coming off a 110-44 loss to FDU-Florham in its home opener on November 13.
Joseph Tagliareni (Hackettstown, N.J.) scored a victory for the Knights in the 200-yard backstroke and added a runner-up finish on the day in the 400-yard individual medley. His victory came in a time of 2:18.96, winning by nearly six seconds, with his runner-up time coming in 5:06.18.
Tyler Williams (Middlebury, Conn.) also had a strong day for the Mount, topping the field in the 500-yard freestyle and claiming a runner-up finish in the 200-yard butterfly. Williams won the freestyle race by nearly a minute with a time of 5:54.50 and posted a time of 2:37.50 in the butterfly event.
Jackson Lerner (Bayside, N.Y.) turned in a pair of runner-up finish with
Peter O'Malley (Yonkers, N.Y.) earning second place points in the 200-yard freestyle. Lerner swam to times of 24.06 and 55.79 seconds in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle races with O'Malley touching out in a time of 2:02.44.
Diamond City Invite History: The Knights last competed in the Diamond City Invitational in 2019, coming away with a ninth place team finish.
Robert Kohlus had a big weekend for the Knights, winning the 200-yard butterfly and claiming a second place finish in the 100-yard butterfly.
MSMC Women At A Glance: The Knights swam in the Kaplan Center Pool for the first time since January 18, 2020 on Saturday when it hosted FDU-Florham.
Jillian Bunch (Newburgh, N.Y.) continued her strong season with a win in the 200-yard freestyle on Saturday, adding a runner-up finish in the 200-yard butterfly. Bunch picked up her victory in a time of 2:07.95 with her runner-up showing coming in a time of 2:44.49.
Kristen Dwight (Newfield, N.J.) scored a pair of runner-up finishes for the Knights on Saturday, placing second in both the 100 and 500-yard freestyle races. Her 100-yard swim concluded in 1:05.94 before her 500-yard swim finished in 6:29.38.
Emily Gursky (Oakville, Conn.) had a strong day for the Knights with a second place finish in the 50-yard freestyle and a third place showing in the 200-yard backstroke. Gurskey's freestyle swim came in 28.61 seconds before posting a time of 2:40.84 in the backstroke race.
Emily Crowley (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) picked up a pair of third place finishes for the Knights with
Catherine Masayda (Watertown, Conn.) placing third in the 400-yard individual medley. Crowley posted a time of 1:09.09 in the 100-yard freestyle and a time of 2:56.97 in the 200-yard breaststroke. Masayda swam to a time of 5:43.95 in the IM race for the Knights.
Diamond City Invite History: The Knights posted a 10
th place finish in its last appearance at the Diamond City Invitational in 2019.
Katie Barber turned in the team's two best finishes of the weekend, taking fifth place in the 200-yard butterfly and eighth in the 100-yard butterfly.
What's Next: The Knights close out the 2021 portion of the schedule on December 4 when it hosts Purchase for a Skyline Conference meet.
