Patchogue, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Swimming team returned to the pool on Friday night and suffered a 105-53 loss to St. Joseph's-L.I.
Jillian Bunch (Newburgh, N.Y.), who won two events, was one of three different Knights to score individual wins against the Golden Eagles.
Bunch continued the strong start to her season on Friday with wins in the 1,000-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly for the Knights. Her freestyle win came in a time of 12:31.72 before topping the field in the butterfly race in 1:08.79.
Emily Gursky (Oakville, Conn.) turned in a strong swim on Friday, winning the 200-yard individual medley and adding a third place finish in the 100-yard freestyle. She touched out first in the IM race in 2:50.71 before swimming a time of 1:07.91 in the freestyle event.
Emily Crowley (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) swam to a first place finish for the Mount in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:21.04 and added a third place swim in the 50-yard freestyle, completing the race in 30.93 seconds.
Kristen Dwight (Newfield, N.J.) also had a strong night for the Mount, scoring a second place finish in the 100-yard backstroke and a third place finish in the 200-yard freestyle. She posted a time of 1:15.67 in the backstroke and showed a time of 2:26.31 in the freestyle race.
Mount Saint Mary returns to action on November 6 when it travels to league rival Sarah Lawrence. Events are scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
