Newburgh, N.Y. – With the health and safety of student-athletes, coaches, staff, and the surrounding community at the forefront of the decision making process, Mount Saint Mary College will forego intercollegiate competition during the traditional 2020-21 Winter Sports season. Sports impacted by this decision are Men's and Women's Basketball, Men's and Women's Swimming, and Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field.
 
"It is with a heavy heart that MSMC has decided to not participate in winter sports," said Mount Saint Mary Athletic Director Jessica Mushel at the time of the announcement.  "As with the fall, this decision was not taken lightly and was a difficult one to make. However, the health and safety of our entire community, especially our student-athletes and coaches, is always our first priority."  
 
Preparations are being made to conduct a spring season and specific details on the Spring 2021 schedule will be made public as they become available.
