Women’s Lacrosse Begins Three Game Homestand with St. Joseph’s-L.I.

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Lacrosse team begins a three game homestand play host to St. Joseph's-L.I. on Tuesday evening. The contest with the Golden Eagles is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

At A Glance: The Knights are 0-8 on the season after a 16-5 road defeat against Farmingdale State on Saturday.

Courtney Condron (Franklin Square, N.Y.) continues to lead the Mount in goals with 14 while Providence Gilkey (Shirley, N.Y.) has eight with Megan Shalvey (Blauvelt, N.Y.) and Alyssa DiMare (Staten Island, N.Y.) have each added seven. Shalvey leads the team in assists with five.

Hope Blanc (Wantagh, N.Y.) leads in ground balls with 14 while Meghan Cumming (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) has picked up 13 groundballs and leads in caused turnovers with nine. Jackie Lindsay (Baldwin, N.Y.) leads in draw controls with 15 for the Mount.

Jackie Finkel (Warwick, N.Y.) has started all eight games in goal for the Knights, making 60 saves and posting a 16.47 goals against average.

The Knights have been outscored 129-48 this season and are last in goals per game in the Skyline Conference with 6.0. 

Last Time Out: The Mount dropped its second straight Skyline contest on Saturday as the Knights lost 16-5 on the road against Farmingdale State. DiMare scored a team-high three goals in the defeat.

DiMare and Shalvey each finished with three points for the Mount while Gilkey and Dolan each picked up three groundballs. Julissa Revilla (Carmel, N.Y.) had a team-high two caused turnovers and six different players won a draw control for the Knights in the contest. Finkel took the loss in goal for the Knights while making four saves in 48:07 minutes of action.

Scouting the Golden Eagles: St. Joseph's-L.I. is 4-3 (2-0 Skyline) on the season after a 11-5 home victory against Maritime last week.

The Golden Eagles have four players with double digit goals as Nicole Stoppelli leads the way with 19. Tori Staker has 18 goals on the season along with Diana Johnston adding 17 goals and Lauryn Gregson chipping in 13. Stoppelli also leads in assists with 14.

Stoppelli holds the lead for groundballs with 31 as well as caused turnovers with 18. Staker leads in draw controls with 35 and Johnston is second with 34. Staker and Johnston have also each picked up 22 groundballs.

Lindsay Ramos has started all seven games in goal for the Golden Eagles. She has made 71 saves while posting a 12.17 goals against average. Overall, St. Joseph's-L.I. is outscoring opponents by a slim margin of 76-73 but are outscoring conference opponents 24-8.

What's Next: Following Tuesday's contest, the Knights continue a three game homestand against the College of Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday. First draw with the Dolphins is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at Kaplan Field.
