Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Lacrosse team returns to the field and continues a four game road swing with a trip across the Hudson River to take on local rival Vassar on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Live Stats and Video are available for those who are unable to attend the game.
At A Glance: The Mount enters the week at 0-4 on the season and is coming off a 22-7 road non-conference loss at Wellesley on Saturday.
Providence Gilkey (Shirley, N.Y.),
Courtney Condron (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and
Alyssa DiMare (Staten Island, N.Y.) all scored twice in the game for the Mount.
Heading into the week, Condron paces the Knights in goals and points with 10. A pair of freshmen in
Megan Shalvey (Blauvelt, N.Y.) and
Anne Dolan (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) are tied for the team lead with an assist apiece.
Sophomore
Hope Blanc (Wantagh, N.Y.) anchors the defense for the Mount with team-highs in caused turnovers with eight and groundballs with 14.
Liz Halpin (Lagrangeville, N.Y.) sits atop the team leader board in draw controls for the Knights with 11.
In goal, sophomore
Jackie Finkel (Warwick, N.Y.) has started each of the team's four games and has made 41 saves while holding a .451 save percentage.
Last Time Out: The Knights dropped their fourth game of the season on Saturday on the road at Wellesley. Finkel finished the game with a career-high 15 saves, with a trio of Knights scoring a pair of goals.
The Blue was paced by 10 goals and 12 points from Dacia Persky with Lena Engbretson finishing the day with eight assists.
Scouting Vassar: The Brewers enter the week at 2-2 overall and have put together two straight wins. After outlasting Westfield State in three overtimes on March 12, the Brewers cruised to a 17-2 win at Eastern Connecticut on March 14.
Alessandra Fable paces the scoring attack for Vassar with 12 goals, while Kelly Pushie is off to a strong start to the season with seven goals to go along with a team-high 10 assists and team-high 17 points. Tessa Waters and Caeli Porette are good for six and five goals, respectively.
Porette is putting together a strong overall season with a team best 13 caused turnovers and is also good for 11 groundballs and 10 draw controls. She is tied for the team lead in draws with Fiona McLeod and Fable, with Tillie Newcomb and Sydney Nemphos tied for the team lead in groundballs with 12 apiece.
Jackie Molloy has started all four games in goal for Vassar and has played 243:43 of a possible 254:15. She has made 24 saves and holds a 11.57 goals against average and a .338 save percentage.
