Newburgh, N.Y. – Under the direction of Interim Head Coach
Mike Lowell, the Mount Saint Mary College Women's Lacrosse team will open the 2019 season on Sunday afternoon when it welcomes Castleton to Kaplan Field. Opening Draw with the Spartans is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
At A Glance: The Mount is coming off a 2018 season that saw it post a 7-8 overall record and a 4-3 mark against Skyline Conference rivals. The Knights advanced to the Skyline Conference Championship for the second straight season in 2018, falling to eventual league champion USMMA in the Semifinal Round.
The Knights welcome back two of their three highest goal scorers and point producers, but will look to replace 46 goals and 55 points lost from senior

Joining the attack in 2019 are newcomers Kathryn McQuillen (Baldwin, N.Y.) and
Megan Shalvey (Blauvelt, N.Y.).
Midfield: The midfield returns six players from the 2018 squad and is highlighted by Second Team All-Skyline Conference selections
Liz Halpin (LaGrangeville, N.Y.) and
Meghan Cumming (Massapequa Park, N.Y.)
Halpin led the Mount with 78 draw controls in her first season with the program and was second on the team with 24 goals. She wrapped up the season with 27 points to go along with 21 groundballs and 15 caused turnovers. Cumming made 15 starts in 2018 for the Knights, picking up 33 groundballs, causing 14 turnovers and winning seven draw controls.

Jackie Lindsay (Baldwin, N.Y.).
Defense: A young backline in 2019 features just two players who appeared in a game last season.
Julissa Revilla (Carmel, N.Y.) appeared in a single game before being lost to injury in 2018, while
Hope Blanc (Wantagh, N.Y.) returns after starting 13 contests as a freshman.
Blanc rounded out her first collegiate season with five goals and seven points, chipping in 19 groundballs, 12 caused turnovers and 11 draw controls.

Grace Monahan (Deer Park, N.Y.) enters the fold in 2019 and will look to make an impact from the jump for the Knights.
The Schedule: After playing back-to-back home games to begin the year, the Knights will play four straight games on the road from March 14-30. The Knights host a season-lone three game home stand from April 9-16 when league rivals St. Joseph's-L.I., College of Mount Saint Vincent and Purchase visit Kaplan Field.
