Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's and Women's Swimming teams will close out the dual meet portion of the schedule this weekend, traveling to FDU-Florham on Friday before hosting Purchase, Baruch and Wells on Saturday in a home sprint meet. The Knights and Devils will square off at 4:00 p.m. with the Senior Day Meet set for 1:00 p.m. at the Kaplan Center.
MSMC Men At A Glance: The Knights enter Friday's meet at FDU with a 2-4 overall record at a 1-2 mark in conference action following a 166-73 road loss at the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday afternoon.
Robert Kohlus (Wading River, N.Y.) finished up the day with a second place showing for the Knights against the Mariners in the 200-yard butterfly and a fourth place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle. His runner-up finish was in a time of 2:06.24, while he completed the freestyle race in 11:13.53.
Matthew Gallo (Clark, N.J.) picked up second place points for the Knights in both the 100-yard backstroke and the 500-yard freestyle in 1:04.63 and 5:45.99, respectively.
Michael Neugebauer (Newburgh, N.Y.) also totaled runner-up points for the Mount with times of 23.28 seconds and 2:35.82 in the 50-yard freestyle and 200-yard breaststroke.
Philippe Noisy (New York, N.Y.) turned in a strong swim in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:03.74, with
Sam Kenney (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and
P.J. Ramsey (Plantsville, Conn.) earning second place points in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 100-yard freestyle.
MSMC Women At At Glance: The Knights suffered their first dual meet loss of the season on Saturday following a 213-76 road loss at the United States Merchant Marine Academy. The loss dropped the Mount to 6-1 overall on the season and to 2-1 against conference rivals.
Jillian Bunch (Newburgh, N.Y.) had a strong day for the Knights in the sprint freestyle events, taking the runner-up spot in both the 50-yard and 100-yard races. Her 50-yard time was 27.27 seconds before taking second in the 100-yard race in 59.67 seconds.
Kyra McNamee (Yonkers, N.Y.) took second for Mount Saint Mary in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:09.61 before taking the second spot for the Knights in the 500-yard freestyle race in 5:47.11.
Three other Mount Saint Mary swimmers scored runner-up finishes for the Knights on Saturday.
Daley O'Keefe (Glastonbury, Conn.) finished with a time of 12:16.72 in the 1,000-yard freestyle, while
Katie Barber (Shelton, Conn.) took second in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:28.98.
Shayla McCarroll (Clifton Park, N.Y.) finished off a strong day with a second place finish in the 100-yard backstroke 1:08.70 and a third place showing in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:28.29.
Mount Saint Mary also picked up second place points in both the 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relay races. The team of O'Keefe, McCarroll, Barber and McNamee opened the meet with a time of 2:05.47 in the medley race, while the quartet of Bunch,
Lauren Schroeder (Wantagh, N.Y.), O'Keefe and McNamee closed the day with a time of 1:53.06 in the freestyle event.

What's Next: The Knights will return to action at the Skyline Conference Championship beginning on January 25. The event has been moved to Purchase beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and continuing at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
