Kings Point, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Swimming team returned to action on Saturday afternoon with a 166-73 road Skyline Conference loss at the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Junior
Robert Kohlus (Wading River, N.Y.) was one of five Knights to pick up runner-up points in the meet.
Kohlus finished up the day with a second place showing for the Knights in the 200-yard butterfly and a fourth place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle. His runner-up finish was in a time of 2:06.24, while he completed the freestyle race in 11:13.53.
Matthew Gallo (Clark, N.J.) picked up second place points for the Knights in both the 100-yard backstroke and the 500-yard freestyle in 1:04.63 and 5:45.99, respectively.
Michael Neugebauer (Newburgh, N.Y.) also totaled runner-up points for the Mount with times of 23.28 seconds and 2:35.82 in the 50-yard freestyle and 200-yard breaststroke.
Philippe Noisy (New York, N.Y.) turned in a strong swim in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:03.74, with
Sam Kenney (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and
P.J. Ramsey (Plantsville, Conn.) earning second place points in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 100-yard freestyle.
Saturday's loss drops Mount Saint Mary to 2-4 overall on the season and to 1-2 in Skyline Conference action. Next up for the Knights is a trip to FDU-Florham on January 18 for 4:00 p.m. non-conference meet with the Devils.
