Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Tennis team had its four match winning streak stopped on Sunday with a 9-0 loss to visiting Plattsburg. The loss drops the Mount to 4-2 overall on the season, while the Cardinals improved to 9-3.
Mount Saint Mary won just five singles games on the day, with freshman
Sarah Canzone (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) taking a game in each set in a 6-1, 6-1 fourth singles defeat.
Antionetta Capone (Howard Beach, N.Y.) won a game at the second position, while
Katie Murray (Highland Falls, N.Y.) and
Jessalyn Goetz (Bethel, N.Y.) taking games at the fifth and sixth points.
At 4-2 overall on the season, Mount Saint Mary returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to league foe Farmingdale State. Match time with the Rams is set for 6:00 p.m.
