Orlando, Fla. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Tennis team continued its trip to Florida on Tuesday with a 6-3 non-conference loss to Huntingdon at the USTA National Campus. Senior
Matt Anastasi (Salisbury Hills, N.Y.) and junior
Chris McGorty (Bellmore, N.Y.) each won singles matches for the Knights.
Anastasi and McGorty won the Mount's lone singles matches of the day, scoring victories at the top two positions. Anastasi moved to 5-2 on the season at the top position with a 6-3, 6-0 win for the Mount, while McGorty improved to 5-1 on the season at the second slot with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph.
In doubles play, the Mount's lone win came at the third position. The duo of
Joe Ryan (Wantagh, N.Y.) and
Matt Gallo (Clark, N.J.) outlasted their opponents 8-6.
Tuesday's loss drops Mount Saint Mary to 4-3 overall on the season. The Knights continue play in the Sunshine State on Wednesday with a noon match with Loras.
