Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Swimming teams return home to host Skyline Conference foe Sarah Lawrence in a dual meet scheduled for 1 p.m.
MSMC Men At A Glance: The men dropped a tight non-conference decision to the College of Staten Island on November 3, 102-94.
Junior
Robert Kohlus (Wading River, N.Y.) registered half of the team's four individual wins in the meet, taking the top spot in the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard butterfly. His initial win of the day came in a time of 2:08.16, winning the medley event by better than eight seconds. Kohlus followed that up with a dominating swim in the 100-yard butterfly, winning the race in 56.72 seconds, topping the field by better than seven seconds.
Junior
Michael Neugebauer (Newburgh, N.Y.) and freshman
Joseph Tagliareni (Hackettstown, N.J.) also turned in strong outings on Saturday for the Knights. Neugebauer won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.07 seconds and added a second place swim in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.47 seconds. Tagliareni won the 100-yard backstroke for the Mount in 1:03.04 and followed Kohlus in the 200-yard individual medley.
Senior
Philippe Noisy (New York, N.Y.) and junior
Sam Kenney (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) each picked up second place finishes for the Mount against the Dolphins. Noisy took the runner-up spot in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:05.05, while Kenney earned second place points in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:16.77.
Mount Saint Mary opened the day in strong fashion, scoring a win in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Matthew Gallo (Clark, N.J.), Neugebauer, Kohlus and Tagliareni took the top spot with a time of 1:47.80.
MSMC Women At A Glance: The women remained unbeaten in dual meet competition with a convincing 124-46 non-conference home win over the College of Staten Island. The Knights won eight events in the meet.
Senior
Kyra McNamee (Yonkers, N.Y.). picked up victories for the Knights in the 200-yard individual medley and the 500-yard freestyle on Saturday. Her individual medley win came in a time of 2:32.06, winning the event by over 20 seconds, and then later scored first place points for the Mount in the 500-yard freestyle, touching out in 5:49.26, taking the race by over a half minute.
Sophomore
Daley O'Keefe (Glastonbury, Conn.) picked up a win for the Mount, topping the field in the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 12:24.62 and was followed by classmate
Katie Barber (Shelton, Conn.) in second place with a time of 12:26.24.
Newcomer
Amanda Daigle (Trumbull, Conn.) followed with a win in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:23.52 and was followed by
Stephanie Adams (Liverpool, N.Y.) who collected second place points in the event with a time of 2:30.12.
Shayla McCarroll (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and O'Keefe went first and second in the 100-yard backstroke against the Dolphins, with McCarroll taking first in 1:07.84 and O'Keefe following in second place with a time of 1:09.36.
Jillian Bunch (Newburgh, N.Y.) and
Taylor Hollis (East Hartford, Conn.) also picked up individual wins for the Mount with Bunch scored a victory in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.58 seconds and Hollis besting the field in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:22.74.
Megan Prendergast (Southbury, Conn.) and
Brigit Gardner (Staten Island, N.Y.) had strong outings on Saturday and each picked up second place finishes. Prendergast finished second in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:08.02, with Gardner taking the runner-up position in the 500-yard freestyle.
The Mount opened the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay to get the meet off to a strong start. The team of McCarroll, Hollis, Barber and Bunch won the race for the Knights in a time of 2:06.08, winning the event by better than 10 seconds.
What's Next: The Knights will travel to Wilkes-Barre, P.A. to take part in the two-day Diamond City Invitational on November 17-18.
