Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Swimming team evened its overall record on Saturday with a 112-66 Skyline Conference win over visiting Sarah Lawrence. Junior
Robert Kohlus (Wading River, N.Y.) and classmate
Michael Neugebauer (Newburgh, N.Y.) led the Knights with a pair of individual wins apiece.
Kohlus continued to led the Knights with wins in both the 200-yard freestyle and the 200-yard butterfly on Saturday. Kohlus' initial win of the day came in a time of 1:53.78 before he bested the field in the butterfly race with a time of 2:05.99.
Neugebauer put together a strong day for the Knights with victories in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle against the Gryphons. He took the 50-yard race in a time of 23.16 seconds before winning the 100-yard race for the Knights with a time of 52.64 seconds.
Freshman
Joseph Tagliareni (Hackettstown, N.J.) and
Philippe Noisy (New York, N.Y.) also scored wins for the Mount on the day. Tagliareni continued his strong rookie season with a victory in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:18.27, while Noisy won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:54.01.
Matthew Gallo (Clark, N.J.) and
P.J. Ramsey (Plantsville, Conn.) also turned in strong days with second place finishes. Gallo scored second place points for the Knights in the 1,650-yard freestyle and the 200-yard backstroke with times of 20:48.33 and 2:25.15, respectively. Ramsey finished up second for the Knights in the 200-yard and 100-yard freestyles with times of 2:03.49 and 54.19 seconds.
With the win on Saturday, Mount Saint Mary moves to 2-2 overall on the season and to 1-0 in Skyline Conference play. Next up for the Knights is the two-day Diamond City Invitational in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. from November 17-18.
